Lily qualified for the meet with an entry time of 2.17.80 in 200m Butterfly, which placed her 14th overall.

Lily swam her heat, came joint 1st in a fantastic new PB time of 2.15.85 and came joint 8th overall in the Women’s Open Age. This meant Lily had to swim in a “swim off” at the end of the session, for that 8th place in the Women’s senior final.

It was never on our agenda that Lily would make the final due to the high level of swimmers at this top event as well as Lily being one of the youngest in the Open Women’s group however, Lily swam another fabulous time and won it.

This morning, Lily swam the final and came 8th as expected in a time of 2.17.51 just missing 7th place, which came in at 2.17.33.

We came to this meet, expecting Lily to swim the 200m Butterfly just once but she ended up swimming it 3 times, and all 3 times, she swam faster than her original entry time, which is just fantastic.

Just over a month ago, Lily’s PB time was 2.19.41 and now she’s achieved 2.15.85 which no doubt will lead to many good things for Lily.
