Students from Marriotts School played a leading part in an event for over 200 young people this week.

The event, held at the University of Hertfordshire on Wednesday 11th June, brought together pupils and students from seven schools with ambassadors from the University.  All of the schools that participated have a link with the Meller Educational Trust.

The Leys Primary school were also invited to join in the afternoon session in which they had an opportunity to work with students of a variety of ages and backgrounds, it was great to see so many of the younger ones getting involved and even getting up on stage to share their dreams and aspirations for the future.

In preparation for the event the Marriotts students had worked with a visionary group called Humanutopia who train young people to become the best leaders possible.  So successful have the Marriotts students been that they were selected to be leading “Heroes” during the day at the university.

Lynn Gadd, Chief Executive of the Meller Educational Trust, said:

I was incredibly impressed with the leadership skill that the Marriotts students displayed at the event at the University of Hertfordshire. They were delightfully confident and not in the least phased by working with a very wide age range of young people.  I have no doubt that they will continue to use their excellent skills at school; university and the world of work.
