Languages Preferences
Parents will be invited to select their preferred language choices for study in Year 7, a link to apply for the language will be sent out in March. We are unable to guarantee that these will be possible for all students, but we will endeavour to give students their first or second preference wherever possible. To support with selecting these preferences, the following short videos about each language may be useful:

Invictus - Our School's Inspiring Anthem
At Marriotts School, we believe in empowering our students to be confident, determined, and resilient individuals. To support this, we have adopted the powerful poem, Invictus, by William Ernest Henley. This iconic poem has become a meaningful part of our school community, and we encourage all students to engage with its inspiring message.
What is Invictus?
Invictus is a beautiful and thought-provoking poem that celebrates the human spirit. Written by William Ernest Henley in 1875, it is a powerful expression of hope, courage, and determination in the face of adversity.
Why is Invictus Important at Marriotts?
We believe that Invictus embodies the values and principles that underpin our school community. It encourages our students to be strong, to persevere, and to never give up in the face of challenges. By engaging with this poem, our students can develop a deeper understanding of its meaning and apply its themes to their own lives.
A Challenge for Our Students
As part of our commitment to inspiring our students, we challenge them to memorise and recite Invictus in assembly. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase their creativity, confidence, and determination. We are proud of our students who have already taken on this challenge and look forward to hearing many more recite Invictus in the future.
Get Involved
As a student, parent, or staff member, you are encouraged to engage with Invictus and its inspiring message. We will provide a copy of the poem to all students, and we invite you to explore its meaning and significance. Together, we can create a community that is built on courage, hope, and determination.
