Textiles (KS3)
What is it to be a Textile specialist at Marriotts?
Students complete a rotation of Textiles within the Y7 technology carousel. This provides opportunity to increase the types of materials that students work with, and designers that they learn about, as they follow the design process to make their pillow.
Students learn hand-sewing skills during the rotation, which provides them with a lifelong transferable skill. Students also experiment with embroidery stitches in their design and making.
Students within are encouraged to experiment with a range of media (including textiles) during their GCSE and A level Art courses.
